Uganda Secures €156 Million from AfDB to Elevate Arua Airport to International Status

The African Development
Bank Group (AfDB) has approved €155.99 million to transform Arua Airport in
Uganda’s West Nile region into a full international-standard facility. The
funding, announced on June 18, 2026, marks a major milestone in Uganda’s
broader strategy to expand its aviation infrastructure beyond Entebbe
International Airport.
