South Africa Commits $1.22 Billion to Upgrade Key Airport Infrastructure
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has launched a far-reaching
infrastructure maintenance and capacity expansion program across its network of
nine airports. The multi-year initiative, backed by a R21.7 billion (USD 1.22
billion) investment, was announced on June 19, 2025. Its goal is to modernize
facilities, improve passenger experience, enhance operational efficiency, and
prepare South Africa’s aviation sector for future growth.
