Drone Strikes Disrupt Khartoum Airport’s Tentative Reopening After Two-Year Closure

Khartoum International Airport welcomed a test flight by Badr Airlines from Port Sudan on Wednesday, 22 October 2025 — marking a symbolic milestone after more than two years of closure. The Sudanese capital’s main gateway had been shut down since April 2023 following the outbreak of civil war between the national army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
