Tanzania to Extend Mandatory Travel Insurance Nationwide
Tanzania’s Ministry of Finance has announced plans to impose mandatory
travel insurance costing USD 44 for nearly all foreign visitors entering the
country. While the policy has applied exclusively to expatriates traveling to
the tourist archipelago of Zanzibar since October 1, 2024, it will soon be
expanded to cover the entire mainland.
