SAATM: Africa Launches Funding Mechanism to Accelerate Implementation of its Single Aviation Market
African transport ministers on Monday adopted a financing mechanism aimed at giving the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) the resources it needs to implement the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) — an initiative launched nearly three decades ago that has yet to fully materialise on a continent where air travel remains out of reach for most people.
