Tanzania Considers New Tax on Foreign Travelers to Fund Border Control Systems
The Tanzania Civil Aviation
Authority (TCAA) is considering the introduction of a new levy on foreign air
travelers arriving in the country. The goal: to fund the implementation of two
strategic systems aimed at enhancing border security and streamlining passenger
processing — the Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) and the Electronic
Border Management Control (eBMC) system.
