South Sudan and Sudan Begin Airspace Delineation Talks
South Sudan and Sudan have officially opened discussions on the
delineation of their shared airspace and the establishment of the Juba Flight
Information Region (FIR), a development that brings Juba closer to exercising
full sovereign control over its skies. The talks began today, November 19,
2025, in Nairobi, Kenya, marking one of the most consequential civil aviation
negotiations for the region since South Sudan’s independence.
