Royal Air Maroc, EgyptAir, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and South African Airways partner to reduce MRO costs
The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) has announced plans to stage
its inaugural Africa MRO event in 2026, a landmark initiative aimed at addressing
critical challenges in Africa’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector.
The announcement, first made by AFRAA
Secretary-General Abderahmane Berthé on September 4, 2025, during the 9th
Aviation Africa Summit & Exhibition in Kigali, Rwanda, highlights a
collaborative effort among five major African airlines to enhance efficiency
and reduce reliance on overseas MRO services.
