Algeria has launched a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) pilot program as part of its broader strategy to accelerate the transition to clean energy and reduce the carbon footprint of its transport sector. The announcement came during Algeria’s participation in two ministerial meetings on alternative fuels in transport and hydrogen, held on the sidelines of Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, on September 15 to 18, 2025.
