Mozambique’s President Chapo Cancels Aircraft Procurement Tender, Cites Corruption at LAM
Mozambican President Daniel Chapo announced on Monday, April 28, 2025, the cancellation of a tender process launched for the acquisition of new aircraft for Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), the national airline. The decision, made after the first 100 days of his presidency, was motivated, he said, by the uncovering of an internal corruption network within the airline.
