Financial Relief: Nairobi Provides $47 Million to Settle Kenya Airways Debt with Exim Bank

In the final quarter of 2023, the Kenyan National Treasury made payments to reduce Kenya Airways' debt to the American Exim Bank, amounting to KSh 6.9 billion ($47.4m), contributing to a total payout of KSh 53.7 billion ($364.2m). In details, the payments consisted of Sh5.5 billion as principal payments and Sh1.4 billion as interest,
the Treasury revealed.
