Air Sénégal Eyes Break-Even by End of 2025, Calls for Holding Structure to Achieve Profitability
Air Sénégal's new CEO, Tidiane Ndiaye, discussed the airline's challenges and future plans in an interview with the Agence de Presse Sénégalaise (APS) on January 9, 2025. The carrier, which had inherited a debt of over 100 billion CFA francs (approximately 153 million USD), faced significant hurdles in 2024, largely stemming from an overambitious route network. Several international destinations, including New York, Milan, Barcelona, Lyon, Marseille, Douala, and Libreville, were shut down due to monthly losses amounting to 3.6 billion CFA francs (5.5 million USD), translating to an annual deficit exceeding 40 billion CFA francs (61 million USD).
