Tanzania Airports Authority and STECOL Corporation Ink Deal to Upgrade Kilimanjaro International Airport

The Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) has taken a significant step toward modernizing one of the country’s key aviation hubs, signing a contract with China-based STECOL Corporation on April 22, 2025, to rehabilitate the runway and install advanced aircraft guidance lights at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). The agreement marks a pivotal moment in Tanzania’s efforts to bolster its tourism and trade infrastructure, with KIA serving as a critical gateway to the nation’s world-renowned natural attractions, including Mount Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti.
