Unstoppable Growth: Dakar Welcomes 2.9 Million Passengers in 2023, Beating Last Year's Performance by 12%
Blaise Diagne
International Airport, Senegal's largest aviation hub welcomed 2,942,594
passengers in 2023, remarkable 11.91% increase compared to the previous year.
Since its inauguration on December 7, 2017, Blaise Diagne International Airport
has been on a trajectory of consistent growth. Despite facing a challenging
period between 2020 and 2022 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the airport
swiftly rebounded to pre-pandemic traffic levels by June 2022. Now, with a
nearly 12% increase in passenger numbers between 2022 and 2023, the airport has
outperformed expectations at a time when many others are grappling to restore
normalcy.
