Kenyan Lawmakers Reject Wilson Airport Reroute, Push for Demolition of 41 High-rises

Senate is demanding the demolition of 41 buildings near Nairobi’s Wilson
International Airport. Lawmakers reject a government proposal to alter flight
paths to avoid the structures. Aviation Principal Secretary Teresia Mbaika
presented the proposal on Friday, June 26, 2026, to the Senate Standing
Committee on Roads, Transportation, and Housing.
