Nigeria is Betting on Airbus A220 to bolster Local Fleet
Nigeria has signed a "Working Together Agreement" with
European aircraft manufacturer Airbus to strengthen its civil aviation and
aerospace ecosystem, the West African country's aviation minister said on
Monday. This agreement aims to transform the operational capabilities of
Africa’s largest economy, specifically by leveraging the A220, a
next-generation narrow-body aircraft built by the European planemaker. Its was signed on May 5,2026 at Airbus's global headquarters in Toulouse,
France, by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, who
led a high-level Nigerian delegation.
