Senegalese Court Orders IATA to Unfreeze Air Sénégal Funds
On July 30, 2025, the Commercial Court of Dakar ruled in favor of Air
Sénégal in its dispute with the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
and Carlyle Aviation Partners. The court ordered IATA to immediately release
approximately 3.55 billion (around USD 6 million) of Air Sénégal’s funds that
had been frozen through the Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) system, deeming
the seizure illegal under OHADA law.
