Senegal: Air Force Steps In to Bolster Domestic Network as National Carrier Falters

The Senegalese Armed Forces have relaunched military air routes connecting key regions of the country, a strategic initiative announced by the General Staff on March 10, 2025. Operated by the Senegalese Air Force, these flights link routes such as Saint-Louis to Ourossogui, Tambacounda to Kédougou, and Cap Skirring to Sédhiou, pending the reopening of the Ziguinchor and Kolda airports, which are currently under renovation.. The move addresses critical logistical and security needs in areas where civilian air travel, notably by national carrier Air Sénégal, remains limited.
