Public Finances: Treasury Accused of Issuing USD 426 Million in Illegal Loans to Kenya Airways
Kenya’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has
put the National Treasury on notice over KSh 55.37 billion (approx. USD 426,25 million) in undocumented loans advanced to
Kenya Airways. The hard-hitting
revelations came on 18 November 2025 during the committee’s examination of the
Auditor-General’s report on the National Treasury’s accounts for the financial
year ended 30 June 2024. The session at Bunge Tower was chaired by PAC Vice Chairperson
Hon. Amina Udgoon Siyad (Garissa Woman Representative).
