Nigeria’s Air Peace Now Puts SmartLynx-Related Losses at USD 38 Million
Air Peace has escalated its position in the ongoing dispute with SmartLynx Airlines, accusing the group — through its Maltese, Latvian, and Estonian entities — of “deliberately” collecting payments it had no intention of honouring, while causing major disruptions to its operations. In a statement released on December 1, the airline now places its total losses at USD 38.04 million, a figure that includes advance payments, security deposits, and the operational impact experienced during a peak-demand period.
