Nigeria adopts "Zero Debt’’ policy to regulate airlines starting January 2026
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has unveiled plans to
implement a Zero Debt Strategy starting January 2026, in a decisive move to
address the growing problem of financial non-compliance among airlines. The
announcement was made on friday 24, 2025, by the
Director of Operations, Licensing,
and Training Standards (DOLTS), Captain Donald Spiff during the 2025 Civil
Aviation Cost Recovery Optimization Stakeholders’ Retreat, held in Lagos State
under the theme “Strengthening Collaboration for Revenue Optimization and
Operational Efficiency.”
