Kigali Plans $500 Million Investment to Boost RwandAir and Complete Bugesera New Int’l Airport
The Rwandan government is set to mobilize over 699 billion Rwandan francs—approximately $500 million—between 2025 and 2028 to fuel two key pillars of its national transformation agenda: the completion of the first phase of Bugesera International Airport and the accelerated expansion of the national carrier, RwandAir. The announcement was reported by The New Times, citing the three-year budget framework presented to Parliament on May 8 by Finance and Economic Planning Minister Yusuf Murangwa.
