Could Ethiopian Airlines Buzz into History with Africa’s First eVTOL Air Taxis?
On March 27, 2025, Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier and a member of Star Alliance, signed an agreement with Archer Aviation, a U.S.-based company specializing in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The deal, valued at up to $30 million, is part of Archer’s “Launch Edition” program and marks a significant step toward sustainable aviation in Africa.
