Africa Pushes To Retain Billions In Aircraft Maintenance Spending As Industry Expands Local Capacity
Africa’s aviation industry is stepping up efforts to retain billions of dollars in aircraft maintenance spending within the continent, as airlines and service providers seek to reduce reliance on overseas repair facilities and strengthen the region’s technical capabilities.The push gained momentum during the inaugural African MRO Conference held from March 29 to 31 in Addis Ababa, where more than 450 delegates from over 50 countries gathered to chart a roadmap for building a more competitive and sustainable maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) ecosystem across Africa.
