Mali: Several Aircraft, Including WFP's, Damaged at Bamako International Airport During Terrorist Attack

In the early hours of Tuesday, September 17, 2024, jihadists from GSIM, affiliated with Al-Qaeda, launched an attack on the Malian gendarmerie school and the Président Modibo Keita Sénou International Airport in Bamako. While the situation was brought under control, with the assailants neutralized and air traffic resumed, the assessment of damage—both human and material—has begun, revealing significant impacts on several aircraft stationed at the airport.
