Mali: Presidential Jet Scandal – Several Former Ministers Sentenced to Prison
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the Special Assize Court of Bamako delivered a landmark verdict in the so-called “Presidential Jet” affair. Bouaré Fily Sissoko, former Minister of Economy and Finance under ex-President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta (IBK), was sentenced to ten years in prison for corruption related to the controversial purchase of a presidential aircraft and military equipment.
