Windhoek Welcomes Fly Angola, But São Tomé Faces a Pause Due to Rising Airport Taxes
Angolan private carrier Fly Angola marked a milestone on December 21, 2024, with the launch of its inaugural international flight connecting Luanda, Benguela, and Windhoek. Departing from Paulo Teixeira Jorge Airport in Catumbela, the flight carried 35 passengers, comprising both Angolan nationals and foreigners. However, at the same time, the airline made the decision to suspend its flights to São Tomé and Príncipe due to a substantial increase in airport taxes in the island nation.
