Civil Rights Group Calls for Forensic Audit amid Concerns over Ethiopian Airlines' Stake in Malawi Airlines
The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) is calling for a forensic audit on Malawi Airlines, the successor of the liquidated State-owned Air Malawi Limited, expressing concerns over the questionable nature of Ethiopian Airlines' 49% shares in the national flagship carrier. In a letter dated January 8, 2024, the civil rights group has urged the Attorney General of Malawi, Chakaka Thabo Nyirenda, to shed light on the contractual agreement between Ethiopian Airlines and Malawi Airlines, reports Nyasa Times.
