Somaliland – Somalia: Airspace Dispute Reignites as Overflight Permits Are Introduced
The authorities of Somaliland have announced the introduction, effective 10 November, of a mandatory prior authorization requirement for any civil aircraft seeking to overfly or operate within the airspace that the territory claims under its jurisdiction. The measure, issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, marks a new stage in the ongoing dispute with the Federal Government of Somalia over airspace control.
