Somaliland Bans Airline Transit Through Mogadishu
Somaliland has issued a new directive
prohibiting airlines from routing passengers through Mogadishu for travel to
and from Hargeisa, marking a significant escalation in its long-running
aviation and immigration dispute with Somalia. The order, announced by the
Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airports, takes effect on December 1, 2025, and
applies to all international carriers serving Egal International Airport.
