Rwanda’s Aviation Industry Fuels Growth: $160m GDP Contribution and 42,000 Jobs (IATA)
Aviation is consolidating its role as a key driver of Rwanda’s economy. On the sidelines of Aviation Africa 2025 in Kigali (4-5 september), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) released a study valuing the sector’s contribution at USD 160 million in GDP, or 1.1% of the national economy, while supporting 42,000 jobs directly and indirectly. The data, based on 2023, reflects both the aviation value chain and tourism made possible by air transport.
