Professor John Lamola has been appointed as the permanent Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of South African Airways (SAA). His appointment was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, for a two-year term. Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, confirmed the decision during a post-Cabinet media briefing in Cape Town on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The airline also announced the appointment in an official press statement.
