Nigeria’s Ibom Air Confirms Purchase of ex-Air Sénégal A220 with Support from Two Local Banks
As exclusively
revealed on May 27 by NewsAero , Ibom Air has officially confirmed the purchase
of the Airbus A220-300 (MSN 55089) previously operated by Air Sénégal. This
acquisition was made possible through a transaction with the then-owner,
American lessor Carlyle Aviation. The pre-delivery ceremony took place on
Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Maastricht Airport in the Netherlands, attended by
the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, and the CEO of the airline, Mfon
Udom, among other dignitaries.
