Niamey Welcomes Back ASKY and Air Côte d'Ivoire Flights as ECOWAS Sanctions Are Lifted

In the wake of a military coup d'état, a swift and decisive response was seen on July 30, 2023, as the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) moved to seal off its land and air borders with Niger, implementing an air exclusion zone on all commercial flights to and from the country. These resolute measures left ASKY and Air Côte d'Ivoire with no choice but to suspend their services to Niger, underscoring the gravity of the situation at hand.
