Mauritania Airlines Deploys Wet-Leased A321 as Fleet Woes Persist

Since July 14, Mauritania Airlines has been operating a 17-year-old Airbus A321 wet-leased from SmartLynx, NewsAero research shows. The aircraft arrived less than a week after the return of another SmartLynx jet — an A320 (9H-SLJ) that flew for the airline from June 15 to July 9. With limited fleet availability, Mauritania’s national carrier is increasingly resorting to short-term wet-leases just to keep its routes alive.
