Maputo Approves Sale of 91% Stake in LAM Mozambique to Fund Aircraft Acquisition Plan
During its third ordinary session on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the Mozambican Council of Ministers approved the sale of 91% of the government’s shares in Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), the national airline. The proceeds from the sale, estimated at USD 130 million, will be used to purchase eight new aircraft and support the company’s restructuring efforts.
