Libya and UAE Advance Talks to Resume Direct Flights
Libya and the United Arab Emirates are taking concrete steps toward restoring direct air connectivity between the two countries after years of suspension. On October 7, 2025, Libya’s Minister of Transportation, Mohamed Salem Al-Shahoubi, met at Mitiga International Airport with Ahmed Taher, an envoy from Dubai’s Civil Aviation Authority, to discuss the resumption of flights and broader civil aviation cooperation.
