LAM Mozambique: 56% Stake Transferred to Three State-Owned Firms, Backed by $4 Million in Public Subsidies

Mozambique transferred 56% of its national carrier LAM – Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique to three state-owned enterprises in 2025, marking the first concrete step in a $130 million rescue plan, while continuing to provide $4 million in direct public subsidies to the chronically loss-making airline, according to the country's General State Account for 2025 published by the government on May 12.
