IATA Warns Supply Chain Crisis Costs Airlines $11 Billion
The International Air Transport Association
(IATA), in partnership with global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman, has
released a new study titled Reviving the Commercial Aircraft Supply Chain,
shedding light on the severe impact of ongoing aerospace supply chain
disruptions on global airlines. The report, released on October
13, 2025, identifies systemic issues that constrain aircraft production, drive
operational costs higher, and force airlines worldwide — including those in
Africa — to delay their fleet renewal and expansion plans.
