Former Tunisair CEO Khaled Chelly Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
The
Criminal Chamber of the Tunis First Instance Court sentenced Khaled Chelly,
former President-Director General of Tunisia’s national airline Tunisair, to
three years in prison on October 25, 2025. The verdict, tied to a high-profile
investigation into fraudulent hiring practices, comes on the heels of Tunisia’s ongoing battle against corruption
within its state-owned enterprises. Alongside Chelly, Najmeddine Mzoughi, the
former Secretary General of Tunisair’s union, received a four-year sentence for
his role in the same scandal.
