African airlines expected to generate $0.2 bln in 2026, far below record global performance
African airlines are projected to post a net profit of about $0.2 billion in 2026, representing a 1% net margin, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The region is set to remain the least profitable globally, despite passenger traffic expanding faster than the world average.
