Rwanda Secures $200 Million Loan from China to Advance Bugesera International Airport Project
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved a concessional loan of approximately $200 million to support the development of Bugesera International Airport in Rwanda. This funding aims to accelerate the completion of the first phase of the airport project, which has been under construction since 2017, Rwandan Finance Minister Yusuf Murangwa unveiled on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in an exclusive interview with Reuters.
