Burkina Faso Initiates Talks with Hassan Allam for Ouagadougou-Donsin Airport Project After Meridiam's Oust

In an unexpected move on August 9, 2023, Burkina Faso unilaterally terminated the concession contract for the future Ouagadougou-Donsin international airport, originally signed with Meridiam and Aéroport Marseille Provence (AMP) for a 30-year duration. This new airport will replace the current Ouagadougou-Taamsê international airport, built in the 1960s and situated in the densely populated city center.
